Friday Night Lights event raises $17,500 for CMHA

This year’s Friday Night Lights, organized by the Canadian Mental Health Associatio­n, Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge with Team55 Let’s Tackle Suicide Awareness, brought in $17,500 to fund programs that deal with suicide.

The event, held Sept. 21 at Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School, attracted more than 2,000 people for a night of football and more. The funds will be used for the CMHA HKPR’s Assertive Outreach Suicide Prevention program, which has worked with more than 100 people and families since 2016.
