Friends remember Carol Winter and her work

-

Dear Carol: So much has happened in the last year! We are working to bring your dream to fruition. Our friends have a place to visit, when volunteers are available. Despite our best efforts, we have lost friends, and the drugmakers are doing their best to make more and more deadly ways for our friends to find death. Some of your friends had words they wished to share with you:

Lori wanted you to know she misses you.

Margaret wants to say she loves you.

Carol was such a special person; as we remember her, Carol continues to live on and to do the good work that she so faithfully and selflessly began.

Carol was a dedicated and loving advocate missed by many.

Carol, you had the purest heart of anyone I’ve ever known. Missing you every day. I often ask myself, if I’m wondering what to do, “What would Carol do?”

Carol you have been gone a year but it seems so much longer. A lot has happened much sadness and misery amongst the people you served. You were small in stature but you left huge shoes to fill. I am trying my best and know you are looking down and smiling. I will make Carol's Place a reality just like we talked about and will not people be forgotten. You are still my hero and I continue your work. (Dan)

Agape Carol! Miss you so much and all you do. Did not get to say goodbye, thanks and so much more. For what you have done, I/we am/are eternally grateful. For what you have inspired, humility and encouragement abound. Evolution within and beyond are part of your legacy. It is a joy to assist as you have led. Thanks again, be well. Agape George!

So many others of your friends had words to share, but didn’t know how to put how much they miss you and love you and admire you into words. There were tears as we discussed how to express ourselves to your memory. You are not forgotten, and your legacy will continue.

Love you,

Your Friends Jason Hartwick, Peterborough
