VIVA Trio brings opera to Performing Arts Lakefield
Performing Arts Lakefield will present the award-winning ViVA Trio in concert at the Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School. All three ladies of the ViVA Trio are highly trained opera singers who have studied and performed internationally and also love to sing the exciting operatic jewels from the classical repertoire.

St. John the Baptist
The Anglican Church Women will have a fundraiser roast beef dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The cost is $20 per person, and tickets will be sold in advance from the church office at 705-652-8302. Seating will be limited to 70 people.
Flu Clinics
Dr. Brendan Hughes' office will be holding two public fu shot clinics at Lakefield Foodland on Thursday from 4:45 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Particpants are asked to bring their health card and wear a short-sleeved top.
Selwyn Public Library

Chemung Lions
Chemung Lake District Lions presented Faith Dickinson with the Melvin Jones Award for Humanity. Faith started Cuddles for Cancer to make a blanket for her Aunt who had cancer. Then she started making them for others who had cancer and then for the elderly, war veterans and then for service members in the armed forces. She has sent blankets to twenty-five countries around the world. The Chemung Lake Lions selected Faith for the Melvin Jones Award for her work helping others. The Melvin Jones Award is one of the highest honors bestowed by Lions to a person doing humanitarian deeds.
Community Care Lakefield
There will be free technology classes for Seniors at Community Care Lakefield, located at 40 Rabbit Street, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month. Bring the device you need assistance with. October’s class will be on Wednesday, and coffee and cookies will be served.
