Chiefs beat Port Hope in crossover game

Trailing 1-0, the Lakefield Chiefs fired four third-period goals to beat the host Port Hope Panthers 4-2 in a PJHL East Division crossover game Saturday night. James Allen, Ethan Young, Carson Hartwick and Evan Marlowe all had goals for Lakefield. Assists went to Shaughness­y, Tarren Jank, Karn Dart and Max Moloney. Michael Christie made 23 saves for the win.

It was the first meeting between the clubs since former Chiefs’ assistant coach Shawn Dunbar took over as the Panthers’ head coach and general manager. Next action for Lakefield (9-3-0), who are one point behind first place North Kawartha Knights, is Tuesday when they host the Uxbridge Bruins (9-4-0) at 7:25 p.m. at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre.
