Domestic charges laid

Two people face charges of domestic assault after weekend incidents in the city, city police said.

A 36-year-old city resident was arrested after police got third party information Saturday that a woman had been assaulted sometime Friday night or Saturday morning.

The man appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court Saturday and was released for another appearance on Nov. 8. A 52-year-old city resident was arrested after an argument at a city home led to an assault outside the building on Saturday night, police stated. A witness called 911.

Officer arrived and located a man, who was charged and appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court Sunday before being released for another appearance on Nov. 8.

Names were not released by city police to protect the identity of the victims, police said.
