Woman arrested after tree struck near Del Crary Park

A River Road South woman faces alcohol-related driving charges after a vehicle struck a tree in the area of Crescent and Perry streets in the southern part of Del Crary Park at about 1:10 a.m. on Oct. 21. The driver was found to have twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system, city police said.

Carly Hillary Shaw was charged with impaired driving and driving with 80 ml of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and given a 90-day licence suspension and had her vehicle impounded for seven days.

She was released for a Nov. 15 court appearance.
