Saturday Farmers’ Market moving indoors for winter

- EXAMINER STAFF

The Peterborough Saturday Farmers’ Market is moving indoors, starting Saturday, until sometime next April.

The market, which has served the area for more than 200 years, aims to support local and Ontario farmers and bring fresh produce to the community, organizers stated in a press release. It will continue to offer seasonal produce and meats, prepared foods and crafts.

“Since I became operations manager of the PDFMA (Peterborough and District Farmers’ Market Association) in September 2018, I’ve been actively recruiting local farmers,” market operations manager Wade Matthews stated.

“In terms of our support for local and Ontario farming, our market reaches a broad section of the community and offers customers a real choice.”

Additions include Puddle Duck, Lunar Rhythm Gardens, Century Game Park, Cedar Grove Farm, One Life Farm and Pinewynd Farm and two new local prepared food vendors.

A seating area has also been added to the market.
