Fatal collision victim identified

The victim of Tuesday afternoon’s fatal rollover near Emily Provincial Park was identified by police Wednesday afternoon as an 89-year-old man who had been serving as a crossing guard in Bobcaygeon for about 13 years.

Roy Jacobs, 89, of Bobcaygeon, died at the scene after a vehicle rolled over into a ditch around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday on Centreline Road, between Shamrock Road and Peace Road, City of Kawartha Lakes OPP said.

He was on his way home from a doctor’s appointmen­t in Peterborou­gh.
