Galaxy Cinemas screening limited run Pokémon movie on Nov. 24

Peterborough’ Galaxy Cinemas will join locations across Canada in screening the second film in the rebooted Pokémon anime film series later this month. Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us will be screened Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. Other screenings will also be held in other cities Nov. 26, 28 and Dec. 1.

Several previous movies in the 21-film franchise, including 2017’s Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, either had limited theatrical runs or were not released in North America. Pokémon: The First Movie was released broadly in 1998.

The rebooted movies are being screened because of the global popularity of the franchise, which includes the popular smartphone game Pokémon Go.

The latest film tells a new story of Ash and Pikachu as they team up with diverse characters to face unique challenges and thrilling Pokémon battles in this heartwarming film that illustrates the value of teamwork, officials stated in a release.
