‘Multiple fatalities’ in GTA crash that sparked tanker fire

Ontario Provincial Police say there are “multiple fatalities” after a multi-vehicle crash that sparked a tanker fire on a toll highway near Toronto.

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon on Highway 407 between Dufferin and Keele streets in Vaughan, Ont.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says in a video on Twitter that emergency crews were on the scene, and the fire was still burning.

He says police are still investigating, but it appears a westbound vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes.
