Chiefs double Merchants

The Lakefield Chiefs opened a three-point lead atop the PJHL Orr Division with a 6-3 road win over the Little Britain Merchants on Saturday night.

The Chiefs improved to 12-3-0 with their fifth straight win and sit three points ahead of the North Kawartha Knights. Dawson Turcotte and Jacob McPhee scored a pair of goals with singles to James Allen and Tarren Jank. Ethan Young had two assists with singles to William Keith, Jordan MacLean, Cole Robbins, Adam Kitchen, Jank and Allen. Andrew Barwinski stopped 20 shots for the win. The Chiefs next game is Friday when they visit the Uxbridge Bruins.
