Man airlifted after ATV crash near Bobcaygeon

TRENT LAKES -- A 44-year-old man suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries when an ATV being driven on a trail off of County Road 36 northeast of Bobcaygeon struck a rock at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

He was a passenger on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 19-year-old man, Peterborough County OPP stated. The crash caused the trailer they were using to haul a disabled ATV to break free and ejected the men, police stated.

The passenger was transported by air ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre for treatment. Both men were wearing helmets, OPP stated.
