Havelock-Belmont-Methuen pair charged in theft of tools from home construction sites
Two Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township residents have been arrested after a Peterborough County OPP community street crime unit investigation into thefts at two construction sites earlier this fall. On Sept. 21, an enclosed trailer containing power tools was stolen from a home construction site on Chemong Road in Peterborough, police said, while some power tools and building materials were stolen Oct. 1 from a home construction site on Roberts Bay Road in Muskoka Lakes Township.
Tools from the thefts were recovered, police said, after a raid Nov. 5 at a home in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township using a search warrant.
Peggy Brown, 53, and Seth Jennings, 53, both of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, were each charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
They are to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on Dec. 20.
