Worker injured at R & J Machine near Lakefield

A 46-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment after being injured on the job Wednesday morning in Selwyn Township, Peterborough County OPP said. Emergency responders were called around 11:30 a.m. to R & J Machine on the 8th Line of Smith, just west of Lakefield and about 13 kilometres north of Peterborough.

The 46-year-old worker at the custom-built docks and boat lifts maker was injured after an I-beam fell off a cart and onto the man’s arm, Const. Joe Ayotte told The Examiner.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating, Ayotte stated.

There was no word on the man’s condition.
