Race cars, equipment worth $300K stolen

Race cars and other items worth more than $300,000 were stolen from a storage facility on Edenderry Line in Selwyn Township. Peterborou­gh County OPP say the theft happened sometime between Aug. 5 and Nov. 1 when a black trailer containing the items was stolen.

Missing are: a 2006 black Pace PRG trailer bearing Ontariolic­ence plate R8077P, a 2004 orange Suburu IR4 race car with no plates, and a 2004 white/black Suburu IWS race car with no plates.

Also taken were two spare motors, three spare dog boxes and sequential transmissi­ons, spare rally and recce suspension, two spare rear differenti­als, control arms and lateral links, two spare subframes, a spare brake set, lights, wheels, tires, tools, jacks, helmets, racing suits, intercoms, auto body parts, a compressor and two generators, custom tents, a barbecue, a TV, a laptop, a tablet, a printer, radios, car covers and straps and two GPS units.
