Man charged with assaulting two women

City police have charged a local man after a sleeping man grew angry after noise woke him up. Police say a man was sleeping on a couch at about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday at an Aylmer Street home when he was awakened by a female family member socializing with a friend. The man allegedly assaulted the two women. Police were called and the man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and failing to comply with a probation order. He was to appear in court Thursday.

The man’s name was not released by city police to protect the family member’s identity.
