Driver swerved at cruiser, city police say

A city man was arrested early on the morning of Nov. 7 after police received calls about a driver suspected of being impaired. Police began searching for the vehicle, which was spotted in the west end. It’s alleged that the driver intentiona­lly drove toward the cruiser, forcing the officer to take evasive action to avoid a crash.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested.

Mitchel Crossman, 27, of Parkhill Road West was charged with dangerous driving, driving while ability impaired and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He’ll appear in court Nov. 29.
