First Responders Cup set for Feb. 23

The third annual First Responders Cup in aid of the Canadian Mental Health Association has been set for Feb. 23 at the Sport and Wellness Centre.

Billed as the ultimate team fitness competition, presented by Fleming College, features eight challenges over the span of eight hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The challenges include a mix of fire, police, community justice, paramedic, customs border services and military-focused exercises. At the top of every hour, teams of six, each including at least two women, will be given a timed challenge. The fastest team overall wins the coveted First Responders Cup.

The cost is $300 per team ($50 per individual) but organizers encourage participants to fundraise above and beyond this amount for a chance to win a prize pack from Silver Creek Farms.
