Crack dealer going to jail
A Peterborough crack dealer is going to jail.
Shan Patel, 34, was sentenced to six months in jail by Justice Stuart Konyer in Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 30.
In August 2017, Peterborough police responded to a disturbance call in the area of George and Charlotte streets.
Patel was initially charged with causing a disturbance. Following the arrest, which Patel resisted, police say he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash.
Patel pleaded guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking while his causing disturbance, obstructing a peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime charges were withdrawn. He will be on probation for 12 months after his release from jail.
