Lexus swaps out side mirrors for cameras:
Toyota’s premium brand is replacing traditional outside mirrors with digital video cameras, starting with the 2019 Lexus ES sedan. The automaker claims that drivers will now have a wider field of vision that automatically adjusts when using the turn signals or when backing up. The cameras also take up less space for better visibility and reduced wind noise.
“Bandit” Burt Reynolds dies at 82:
The Florida-based actor, who starred in two Smokey and the Bandit films (1977 and 1980), provided major promotion for General Motors’ Pontiac division by driving the wheels off Firebird Trans Am in each show. More recently, Reynolds auctioned off two of the movie cars, fetching more than $600,000.
