Chiefs beat Panthers 6-3

LAKEFIELD — Lakefield Hendren Funeral Home Chiefs captain Braden Kublick had two goals and an assist as the Chiefs doubled up on the Port Hope Panthers 6-3 in PJHL action Tuesday night at the LakefieldS­mith Community Centre.

Zac Treen and William Keith each had a goal and an assist for the Chiefs. Jesse Merrill and Carson Hartwick had the other Lakefield goals. Karn Dart had two assists while Jeff Hawthorne and Cole Ellis contribute­d single assists.

Lakefield outshot the visitors 38-17. Michael Christie made 14 saves for the win, while Ethan Robertson took the loss for the Panthers, blocking 32 shots.

The Chiefs face the North Kawartha Knights on Saturday at 2:55 p.m. at the North Kawartha Community Centre in Apsley.
