Low of -17.9 C snaps record
The low temperature of -17.9 C on Thursday morning in Peterborough snapped an 86-year-old record, according to Environment Canada.
The temperature topped the previous historic low temperature of Peterborough for Nov. 22 of -17.8 C that had been set in 1932, Environment Canada said. The record-breaking low followed a gusty day that saw winds reach 66.6 km/h at the Peterborough Airport.
With the wind chill, Thursday morning’s low temperature felt more like -25 C by around 8 a.m. Thursday.
