Jeremy Brooks of AVROD wins Cubs’ Lair

Jeremy Brooks of AVROD, a virtual reality tech online database for archeologi­sts, was declared the winner of the Innovation Cluster’s fourth annual Cubs’ Lair Entreprene­urship Competitio­n on Thursday night. Brooks wins a package of prizes and services worth more than $10,000 to grow his business.

Five young entreprene­urs made their pitches to the judges during the competitio­n at the Gordon Best Theatre on Hunter Street in downtown Peterborou­gh.

The other five finalists were: Dylan Trepanier of Alexander Optical; Cody Cameron and Joshua Williams of Devout Fitness, a mobile app for 24/7 access to fitness profession­als; Mariah Eshkakogan and Madawi Abunayyan of Grand Najd Cosmetics line of Arabic oil fragrances; Dillon Ahola of Opened Minds, an inclusive clothing line.

The competitio­n was open to new entreprene­urs aged 18 to 29.

The Innovation Cluster partnered with FastStart and the Trent Youth Entreprene­urship Society for the Dragons’ Denstyle competitio­n.
