Dr. Kristy Buccieri, Sociology
“The experience of homelessness is unique across communities, which means that finding appropriate and sustainable solutions requires a locallyinformed response. My research helps local governments and service providers make decisions, based on information about the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. This work has allowed me to develop close partnerships with the City of Kawartha Lakes and the City of Peterborough to shape policy decisions, and the Four Counties Addictions Services Team to implement proven supports. I am fortunate to collaborate with faculty members and students within Trent University on this research, to help build local knowledge and end homelessness in our community.”
