Festive RIDE program kicks off

City police will be back on the road this holiday season as the Festive RIDE program returns.

Officers will set up spot checks at areas in the city, Lakefield and Cavan Monaghan Township.

“This education and enforcement campaign is targeting drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs,” traffic Sgt. Ryan Wilson stated. “There is no excuse for impaired driving. Plan ahead, use a designated driver, call a cab, take public transportation or stay overnight.”

The Festive RIDE campaign runs until early January.
