Crowley to fight McLellan for titles
Feb. 9 boxing card also includes Belleville’s Madison Blakely
Homecoming IV: Bad Blood is the most ambitious promotion yet for Cody Crowley.
CCC Promotions unveiled details Tuesday for a Feb. 9 professional boxing show at the Memorial Centre headlined by Crowley’s first 12-round bout.
He’ll defend his Canadian Professional Boxing Council (CPBC) Canadian and International super-welterweight titles against former champion Stuart McLellan of Williams Lake, B.C. The newly created CPBC North American title will also be up for grabs.
Crowley has a 16-0 record with nine knockouts while McLellan, who is riding 14-fight unbeaten streak is 25-2-3 with one no contest and 10 knockouts.
Crowley believes he’s lined up the most competitiv e undercard yet of his four PMC promotions.
“Homecoming IV: Bad Blood is shaping up to be the most stacked boxing card on Canadian soil next year,” states a CCC Promotions press release.
Five undercard bouts are confirmed including cruiserweight Mushin Cason (3-0, 1 KO), the younger brother of former Heavyweight World Champion Hasim Rahman, will be facing his toughest opponent yet in the heavy-handed veteran Aboken Bokpe (8-1, 4 KOs) of Oshawa. Cason won his pro debut at the PMC in May and Bokpe has earned victories on all three previous Homecoming card.
Knockout artist Mladen Miljas (9-0, 9KOs) will look to extend his undefeated record and maintain his 100 per cent knockout rate against a soon-to-be-named heavyweight opponent.
The hard-hitting pretty boy Taylor Page (2-0, 1KO), will be facing the crowd-pleasing journeyman Jason Kelly (3-5-1), of Brockville.
For the first time, CCC Promotions is putting on a female fight on its card with Belleville’s Madison Blakely, who looks to secure her first win in the pro ring.
The card will also feature Peterborough’s own Jordan McCue (1-0) who will be making his hometown debut. McCue turned pro earlier this year at a card in Oshawa following a lengthy amateur career. He fights out of the Scrapyard Boxing Club run by Crowley’s amateur trainer Kerry Hendren.
Several other top Canadian fighters will be on the card, with more details to follow soon, states the release.
Tickets will go on sale Dec. 6 and will be available at the PMC Box Office, by phone at 705-7433561 or online at www.memorialcentre.ca. Limited floor seat tickets will be available through CCC Promotions by calling 705-927-3265 or email TripleCPromotions @outlook.com.
