Kirk named British Ice Hockey Player of Week

-

Peterborough Petes forward Liam Kirk was named Tuesday the British Ice Hockey website’s Player of the Week after scoring five goals in three Petes wins over the past week.

Kirk, who was drafted in June by the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, but is only in his first season in the Ontario Hockey League, now has 10 points in his last 10 games for the rebounding Petes.

He won with 56 per cent of the vote in online voting, with Dundee Stars goalie Craig Holland second at 21 per cent.

“It’s been a really good weekend for us after a weekend where we had two bad losses so it was important to bounce back from that,” Kirk told the British Ice Hockey website.
