Shooting in Lindsay under investigation
LINDSAY — The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is appealing to witnesses to come forward after a 27-year-old man showed up at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay with a gunshot wound early Friday morning.
The man was transferred to a hospital in Toronto for treatment of a gunshot wound, Insp. Will Herbert stated.
His injuries are not life-threatening, Herbert said late Friday morning.
Officers were investigating Friday at an apartment complex at William and Bond streets in Lindsay, but Herbert told The Examiner there is no confirmation that the shooting happened there.
“I can confirm there is police activity in that area in relation to the shooting,” Herbert told The Examiner.
“We’re just following up some leads, but we haven’t confirmed that that is the location of the shooting at this point. We are still appealing to any potential witnesses to provide any information that might shed some light on the location of the shooting.”
Investigators believe there was a disturbance around 2:30 or 3 a.m. Friday.
Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward by calling the City of Kawartha Lakes Police at 705-324-5252 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-2228477, or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca.
