Canes edge Wildcats, Falcons blank Griffins

The Holy Cross Hurricanes edged the I.E. Weldon Wildcats 3-2 in Kawartha high school boys hockey league play on Thursday. Nolan Marino scored a pair of goals and Kieran Flynn a goal and assist for Holy Cross. Also adding assists were Isaac Desautel, Gavin Cooper-Bailey and Austin Rye. Scoring for the Wildcats were Liam Fagan and Reed Campbell. Assists went to Greg Downey, Brad Fanning and Ben Catherwood.

The Fenelon Falls Falcons blanked the Thomas A. Stewart Griffins 6-0. Brett Metherel scored twice while Greg Griffin had a goal and assist. Owen Worsley, Caden Finley and Keegan Janke also scored. Adding assists were Nic Harris and Evan Taylor. Noah Lindquist recorded the shutout.
