CITY MAN FACES DRUG CHARGES
after canine unit search
A 37-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking including purple heroin and cocaine.
City police used a canine unit to search a vehicle stopped at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday near Rubidge and Scott streets.
Officers seized cocaine, purple heroin, drug paraphernalia and cash. Purple heroin is heroin mixed with Fentanyl, police state in a press release.
Joseph Donald Simon, 37, of Stewart Street, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (heroin), possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanly) and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (crack cocaine).
He was held in custody and was to appear in court Thursday.
