Canada shouldn’t sign UN migration compact

-

Why is there not a huge outcry of condemnation on this issue? On Dec. 10-11 Canada will be signing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration: Intergovernmentally Negotiated and Agreed Outcome in Morocco.

This normalizes mass immigration, turning it into a human right. The UN will dictate how many asylum seekers can come to Canada unchallenged. And current citizens will not be able to complain because it will be against the law. Expect more than half your income to be funneled off by various levels of government. These hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers will have a legal right to everything in our social safety net.

This cannot happen. We cannot let foreign entities dictate our immigration policies. Many countries have already opted out including the United States and Australia. Canada should too. I advise all citizens concerned with this Global Compact to call or write their MP and express your disapproval. I have written to our MP, Maryam Monsef, and have heard nothing back on this issue.

The Trudeau Liberals have mismanaged this portfolio from the moment they took power in 2015. Remember this is not xenophobia or racism! It is a desire to welcome people to Canada through a rigorous immigration system. Dave Schofield, Cindy Street
