Celebrating the season with Christmas Stories and Song at Emmanuel Church
Emmanuel United Church presents Christmas Stories and Song, Sunday at 4 p.m. This event will get you into the Christmas spirit and features narration by Robert Moreton and musical guests including The Peterborough Pop Ensemble, the bells of UnBELLievable and accompaniments by Arlene Gray and musical friends.
The audience will also participate in signing carols. Funds raised from the performance will go towards the purchase of a new boiler for the church. Members of the congregation ask the community to “help us stay warm so that we can continue to serve”. Christmas Music
Sacred Heart Church presents Music for Advent and Christmas on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The concert will feature the Sacred Heart Girls Schola and Choir who will sing and ring handbells, and solos by tenor Father Andrew Ayala. Victorian Christmas
Hutchison House Museum, 270 Brock St., has decked the halls and is ready to celebrate the holiday season. All children are invited to a Victorian Christmas on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., where they will enjoy holiday treats, hearth demonstrations, and crafts. Bethlehem 'Live
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church presents Bethlehem ‘Live, an outdoor production of the Christmas Story with sound, lighting, live animals and a Bethlehem village, Saturday at 6 and 7 p.m. The twenty-minute presentation will be preceded by a carol sing and takes place in Victoria Park at Water and Murray Streets. English Country Dancers
The Peterborough English Country Dancers are hosting a community holiday dance on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock St. The evening features a blend of English and contra dances with live music. Each dance will be taught to participants before it is danced by the group. All are welcome and neither a partner nor experience is necessary!
