Man, 39, charged with 1998 murder

SUDBURY — Police say a 39-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a university student that dates back two decades.

Sudbury Police say Renee Sweeney, 23, was found dead with 30 stab wounds, behind the counter of the adults-only video store where she worked in January 1998.

Robert Steven Wright was arrested in North Bay, after analyzing forensic evidence.The accused was an 18-year-old student at the time.
