Canadian maple syrup, honey production down

OTTAWA — Statistics Canada says maple syrup and honey production this year fell to their lowest levels in three years. The agency said Wednesday maple syrup production fell by 21.7 per cent to 44.5 million litres in 2018. Honey production was down 2.9 per cent to 42 million kilograms, while the value of honey rose 3.4 per cent to $196.6 million.
