RIDE check leads to drugs, weapons charges

Peterborou­gh County OPP officers conducting a Festive RIDE check on Curve Lake Road Thursday night found weapons and drugs and arrested two people.

Police stopped a vehicle at about 11 p.m. An investigat­ion led to cash, cellphones, drugs and prohibited knives.

Sean Peter Martin, 27, of Minden Hills, was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of traffickin­g, possession of methamphet­mine for the purpose of traffickin­g, two counts of possession of morphine) possession of Percocet, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of being in a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon. Shelby Lorraine Elizabeth Montgomery, 27, of Trent Hills, was charged possession of cocaine for the purpose of traffickin­g, possession of methampeta­mine for the purpose of traffickin­g, two counts of possession of morphine, possession of Percocet, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of being in a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon.

They are to appear in court Jan. 17.
