Chase Still­man named to Team On­tario U16 team

Peter­bor­ough na­tive Chase Still­man was named Mon­day to the ros­ter for Team On­tario’s U16 team for the 2019 Canada Win­ter Games in Red Deer, Alta. Peter­bor­ough’s Scott Car­low, who is man­ager of de­vel­op­ment pro­grams at the On­tario Hockey Fed­er­a­tion, was also named as POE sup­port staff for the team. Team On­tario, the de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons of the Canada Win­ter Games, will gather for a pre­tour­na­ment camp from Feb. 11 to 14 at the Mastercard Cen­tre for Hockey Ex­cel­lence in Toronto be­fore head­ing to Red Deer, which is host­ing the Canada Sum­mer Games from Feb. 15 to March 3.

Still­man, 15, a right winger, is the son of OHL Sud­bury Wolves head coach and for­mer NHLer Cory Still­man. He has 14 goals and 25 as­sists in 18 games with the Sud­bury Mi­nor Midget AAA Wolves and three goals in three Ju­nior A games with the Ray­side-Bal­four Cana­di­ans of the NO­JHL this sea­son.

He’s the brother of for­mer OHL Oshawa Gen­er­als and Hamil­ton Bull­dogs de­fence­man Ri­ley Still­man, 20, who is play­ing for the AHL’s Spring­field Thun­der­birds this sea­son and scored his first pro league goal on Satur­day night.
