Chase Stillman named to Team Ontario U16 team

Peterborough native Chase Stillman was named Monday to the roster for Team Ontario’s U16 team for the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta. Peterborough’s Scott Carlow, who is manager of development programs at the Ontario Hockey Federation, was also named as POE support staff for the team. Team Ontario, the defending champions of the Canada Winter Games, will gather for a pretournament camp from Feb. 11 to 14 at the Mastercard Centre for Hockey Excellence in Toronto before heading to Red Deer, which is hosting the Canada Summer Games from Feb. 15 to March 3.

Stillman, 15, a right winger, is the son of OHL Sudbury Wolves head coach and former NHLer Cory Stillman. He has 14 goals and 25 assists in 18 games with the Sudbury Minor Midget AAA Wolves and three goals in three Junior A games with the Rayside-Balfour Canadians of the NOJHL this season.

He’s the brother of former OHL Oshawa Generals and Hamilton Bulldogs defenceman Riley Stillman, 20, who is playing for the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds this season and scored his first pro league goal on Saturday night.
