Minor Bantams lose a pair

The Peterborou­gh Ben Smith Sells Minor Bantam AAA Petes returned to action over the weekend with two away games after the holiday break.

On Saturday, the Peterborou­gh Petes battled against the North Central Ontario Predators, losing 6-2. Petes goals were scored by Ethan Campbell and Wyatt Wiggins, assisted by Porter Martone, Alex Whitney and Nicholas Tripp. Duncan Branch was in net.

On Sunday, the Petes faced the Barrie Colts, the top team in the West, losing 4-1. Peterborou­gh’s goal was scored by Kohl Millitz, with a nice tip of the point shot of Owen Thake, who earned the assist. Brayden Friedrich had a solid game in net. Jack Lowry earned the Humboldt Strong player of the game honour.

The next game for the Minor Bantams is Wednesday at 8 p.m. against Quinte at the Evinrude Centre.
