Woman charged after man attacked with glass
A 20-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after a man was attacked with a broken piece of glass early Thursday morning. The man, who was under court orders to not communicate with the woman, and the woman began arguing at a Peterborough home, police said. The woman attacked the man with the broken piece of glass, threatened him and caused damage to the home, police said. Police were called and the woman then fled the area, police said. The man went to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment to his injuries. The woman was arrested later Thursday at a Peterborough home. A 20-year-old Peterborough woman was charged with assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief under $5,000 and being party to the offence of breach of undertaking She was held in custody and appeared in court Thursday. The man, whose age was not given by police, was charged with breach of an undertaking for failing to abstain from communicating with the accused. He was released from custody and is to appear in court Sept. 10. City police did not name the man and the woman because it was a domestic incident.
