Exhibitors ready to go at business expo
Annual commerce show will feature new companies from Innovation Cluster
The LoveLocalPtbo Business Expo, the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce’s annual trade show, takes place on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Evinrude Centre, 911 Monaghan Rd.
The show is open to the business community and the general public, with free admission and parking.
There will be more than 80 exhibitors from a wide range of sectors, including professional services, health and wellness, energy, financial services, construction, hospitality and more.
The event brings together the local business community under one roof while showcasing their products and services.
“Every year our attendance grows and we are expecting over 1,000 people to attend the show, which is the region’s largest business trade show, with more great prizes, food and beverage sampling from local businesses in the networking café, and some entertainment as well,” says Tiffani Arcari, membership services co-ordinator.
New this year is the Start and Grow Zone, a showcase featuring area businesses starting, revolutionizing, and growing with the Innovation Cluster, Community Futures and Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development.
Another new zone this year is the Workforce Hub.
The Workforce Development Board and Local Employment Planning Council are featuring information about barriers to employment, the labour market, skilled trade pathways, literacy and workplace services for employers and those looking for work, local supports available, in-demand careers and pathways and more.
“We invite everyone to come and see new products, watch demonstrations and learn what resources and innovations are coming out of Peterborough,” says Arcari.
