Six people in Northumberland County facing child porn charges
A Trent Hills man and a 16-year-old Hamilton Township youth are among six people in Northumberland County facing child pornography charges following an investigation by the OPP’s child sexual exploitation unit.
Officers executed six unrelated search warrants between Sept. 24 and 26 in Northumberland County, carried out jointly with the OPP digital forensics unit and Northumberland OPP with assistance from the Cobourg Police and the Port Hope Police.
Six people were charged with a total of 16 criminal charges and multiple electronic devices were seized for further examination.
The Hamilton Township 16-yearold was charged with one count of making child porn available and one count of possession of child porn. The youth is to return to court Nov. 12 in Cobourg.
Kyle Elieff, 61, of Trent Hills, was charged with two counts of possession of child porn and one count of accessing child porn. He is to return to court Oct. 16 in Cobourg.
Richard Bruce Marple, 59, of Port Hope, was charged with one count of making child porn available, one count of possession of child porn and one count of accessing child porn. He is to return to court Oct. 3 in Cobourg.
Derek Peter Mitchell, 35, of Hamilton Township was charged with one count of possession of child porn and one count of accessing child porn. He is to return to court Oct. 16 in Cobourg.
Donald Robert Cholmondeley, 62, of Cobourg, was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography. He is to return to court Oct. 23 in Cobourg.
David McDougall, 50, of Cobourg, was charged with one count of making child porn available and two counts of possession of child porn. He is to return to court Oct. 2 in Cobourg.
