Apart­ment raid turns up drugs

City po­lice raided a down­town apart­ment Wed­nes­day, and ar­rested a man af­ter find­ing drugs, cash and pel­let guns.

Mem­bers of the po­lice emer­gency re­sponse team as­sisted its drug unit in search­ing the home on Ge­orge Street North.

Fen­tanyl, co­caine, crys­tal metham­phetamine, hy­dro­mor­phone and Cana­dian cur­rency were found, along with three pel­let guns, po­lice say.

Joseph St. James, 56, of Peter­bor­ough was ar­rested and charged with pos­ses­sion of a Sched­ule I sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing (hy­dro­mor­phone), pos­ses­sion of a Sched­ule I sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing (co­caine), pos­ses­sion of a Sched­ule I sub­stance (fen­tanyl), pos­ses­sion of a sched­ule III sub­stance (crys­tal meth), pos­ses­sions of the pro­ceeds of crime and pos­ses­sion of a firearm con­trary to a pro­hi­bi­tion or­der.

He was held in cus­tody and was to ap­pear in court Thurs­day. Ray­mond Charles Har­vey was charged with pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty over $5,000, pos­ses­sion of break in in­stru­ments and fail­ing to com­ply with a pro­ba­tion or­der.

He was bought back to Peter­bor­ough and was to ap­pear in court Thurs­day.
