John Grant Jr.’s Outlaws fall in final
The Denver Outlaws fell one goal short of capping John Grant Jr.’s comeback season with a Major League Lacrosse championship.
The Chesapeake Bayhawks edged the Outlaws 10-9 in the MLL final on Sunday afternoon in Denver.
Grant came out of two years retirement at age 44 to serve as a player/offensive co-ordinator. He scored 21 goals in 14 regular season games. He took back the title of MLL all-time scoring leader he lost last year to Paul Rabill.
Grant scored five goals in Saturday’s 17-15 semifinal win over Boston Commons. Peterborough’s Zach Currier had two goals and three assists for Denver in the semis. Grant and Currier scored one goal each in the final.
