Suspect accused of waving machete during argument
One person was arrested after a machete was waved during an argument in the driveway of a home on Otonabee Drive Saturday night. Police were called after a person was told to leave the property shortly after 10 p.m. It’s alleged the accused and others were having an argument when a he took a machete out of a backpack and waved it at a person before hitting utility poles with it. Riley RedpathVendt, 19, of Peterborough was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief under $5,000. Ridpath-Vendt was released and will appear in court Nov. 7.
