Sus­pect ac­cused of wav­ing ma­chete dur­ing ar­gu­ment

One per­son was ar­rested af­ter a ma­chete was waved dur­ing an ar­gu­ment in the drive­way of a home on Oton­abee Drive Satur­day night. Po­lice were called af­ter a per­son was told to leave the prop­erty shortly af­ter 10 p.m. It’s al­leged the ac­cused and oth­ers were hav­ing an ar­gu­ment when a he took a ma­chete out of a back­pack and waved it at a per­son be­fore hit­ting util­ity poles with it. Ri­ley Red­pathVendt, 19, of Peter­bor­ough was ar­rested and charged with pos­ses­sion of a weapon for a dan­ger­ous pur­pose, ut­ter­ing threats to cause death or bod­ily harm and mis­chief un­der $5,000. Rid­path-Vendt was re­leased and will ap­pear in court Nov. 7.
