Cast your vote for the party and its policies, not the person
Looming on the horizon is the federal election. Also looming is Andrew Scheer. If ever one desires to be prime minister, it is this miscreant. It oozes from every pore. His constant criticism of Justin Trudeau is his way of attaining this goal. But a video of him bashing LGBTQ citizens, he considers a low blow. He can't deny a video.
His refusal to march in Pride parades us a further indication of his bias. He comes to Peterborough maligning our MP, saying our electorate is fed up with her. How does he know? Did he speak to every Peterborough voter?
He wants to reinstall train service from Union Station eastward. Mike Harris put the kibosh on that by cutting funding.
What is his platform? How does he intend to do any of the things he claims to have a plan for? No explanation there.
The Liberal government is not perfect. It makes its share of mistakes. The SNCLavalin fiasco is an example.
Look at what Doug Ford has done to Ontario. Look at what Donald Trump has done to his country. What will Mr. Scheer do to us? What programs will he cut funding for? Pensions for seniors? Disabled? Home care? He wants to put money in the pocket of hard-working Canadians. So far our provincial Conservatives have taken money out of our pockets.
Liberals have given Canadians the baby bonus, mother's allowance, university child care benefits and more. What have the Conservatives given us? Tax breaks for the rich, and with less taxation comes more cuts to social welfare, health care, education and provincial aid to municipalities.
Stephen Harper's right-hand man will continue these policies if he becomes prime minister.
Consider what Andrew Scheer will do to us based on the history of Conservative rule. Vote for what the party stands for, not the leader.
