Junior Tiger-Cats claw Eskimos in KMFL action

Kinsmen Minor Football League holding two more Friday Night Lights games this week

Cooper Lunn and Lincoln Landry continue to rack up the points as the Kinsmen Minor Football League’s junior Tiger-Cats beat the Eskimos 46-6 on Saturday at Thomas A. Stewart Athletic Field.

Landry scored four touchdowns while Lunn booted five two-point converts. Single TiCat TDs went to Kian Yuriek and Hayden Heigh. The other junior game had the Redblacks stop the Argos 28-8.

Derek Jones had two touchdowns, Trent Mealin one and Santiago

Selgado-Scott a TD and two converts to lead the Redblacks attack.

Uriah Smith scored the lone Argo TD and Ethan Telford added the extra points.

The lone senior game saw a good defensive battle on key tackles by Argo linemen Andrew Hatton and Charlie Matthews and Redblacks Connor Overholt-Stockdale.

The Argos led 8-0 at the half as Devon Johnson pushed one across in the second quarter with points after from Aiden Vesnaver. That score stood up until the fourth quarter when Johnson ran in two more major and Vesnaver booted the converts in a 22-0 Argo win.

This week features the second KMFL Friday Night Lights at TASSS. The Ticats and Redblacks juniors meet at 6:30 p.m. and the seniors at 8 p.m.

On Saturday morning it’s the Argos and Eskimos with juniors at 9 a.m. and the seniors at 10:30 a.m.
