Dutch group to per­form nos­tal­gic songs

A mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment group fea­tur­ing vin­tage songs will per­form at a lo­cal se­niors cen­tre next week.

The Sgt. Wil­son’s Air Force Show is play­ing two shows at the Map­leridge Recre­ation Cen­tre, on Brealey Drive, on Thurs­day.

The four-piece lip-synch­ing group is from the Nether­lands.

They per­form nos­tal­gic songs from the 1940s and ’50s by artists in­clud­ing Glenn Miller, Doris Day and Frankie Lane. Singers per­form with vin­tage mi­cro­phones, lin­ing the stage as a quar­tet, and dressed in pe­riod uni­forms.

The group marches, dances and sings to some of the most iconic songs of the Sec­ond World War.

The show is done in an Air Force style with lights and spe­cial ef­fects.

The af­ter­noon per­for­mance starts at 2 p.m. and doors open at 1 p.m.

The evening show starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m.

Tick­ets are $20 in ad­vance and are avail­able at the cen­tre.
