Dutch group to perform nostalgic songs
A musical entertainment group featuring vintage songs will perform at a local seniors centre next week.
The Sgt. Wilson’s Air Force Show is playing two shows at the Mapleridge Recreation Centre, on Brealey Drive, on Thursday.
The four-piece lip-synching group is from the Netherlands.
They perform nostalgic songs from the 1940s and ’50s by artists including Glenn Miller, Doris Day and Frankie Lane. Singers perform with vintage microphones, lining the stage as a quartet, and dressed in period uniforms.
The group marches, dances and sings to some of the most iconic songs of the Second World War.
The show is done in an Air Force style with lights and special effects.
The afternoon performance starts at 2 p.m. and doors open at 1 p.m.
The evening show starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at the centre.
