Two con­victed in Weller Street drug raid

Fines and com­mu­nity ser­vice for the men busted with mar­i­juana, edibles and magic mush­rooms at house

Two men have pleaded guilty in con­nec­tion to a drug raid in April at a house on Weller Street, be­tween Wal­lis Drive and Sher­wood Cres­cent. Fol­low­ing an ex­ten­sive in­ves­ti­ga­tion, Peter­bor­ough po­lice raided the Weller Street house on April 25 and seized a large quan­tity of mar­i­juana, mar­i­juana edibles and magic mush­rooms.

Clarke Shaw and Ja­cob Tobin, both 21, were ar­rested at the scene and charged with pos­ses­sion of magic mush­rooms for the pur­pose traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana for the pur­pose sell­ing. Fol­low­ing their ar­rest, Robert Pogue, 23, was also charged with pos­ses­sion of magic mush­rooms for the pur­pose traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana for the pur­pose sell­ing.

On Sept. 12, Shaw pleaded guilty to pos­ses­sion of magic mush­rooms and was sen­tenced to com­mu­nity ser­vice and one month of pro­ba­tion. His pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana for pur­pose of sell­ing charge was with­drawn. Both charges against Tobin were with­drawn on Oct. 3. On the same day, Pogue pleaded guilty to both charges and was fined $1,500 on both counts. He was also given one year of pro­ba­tion.
