Another Christmas at the Marshland

The Marshland Centre will be brimming with local artisans’ handmade gifts and Christmas decoration­s for you to purchase on Nov. 16.

Nearly 20 artisans take time to produce good quality and artistic items such as pottery, gourd art, metal sculpture and fashion accessorie­s.

Christmas at the Marshland runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Admission will be free, and donations to the Lakefield Food Bank and Lakefield Animal Welfare Shelter will be welcome.

Lakefield Village Lions

Lakefield Village Lions Club is hosting a Community Soup Lunch on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lakefield Legion, located at 10 Nicholls St. All are welcome so come early for good food and fellowship. Take out is available. Donations will be gratefully accepted, and all proceeds to support Diabetes Canada.

Free Public Skating

There will be free public skating at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre from 12 to 1 p.m. on the following Saturdays: Nov. 9, Nov. 16, Nov. 23. There will also be free public skating at the Ennismore Community Centre from 1 to 2 p.m. on the following Sundays: Nov. 10, Nov. 17, and Nov. 24.

Lakefield Santa Claus Parade

This year’s Santa Claus Parade will be on Nov. 17, and the parade leaves from the Lakefield Legion, located at 10 Nicholls St. Registrati­on for floats on parade day is at the Legion Hall between 12 and 12.45.

The parade is organized by the Lakefield Lions Club, and new groups are always welcome, and anyone looking for more informatio­n can phone Lion Bill Richardson at 705-9311636. After the parade, join Santa at the Lakefield Legion for some treats.

Chemung Lake Lions

A Remembranc­e Day Service will be held in Bridgenort­h on Wednesday at the Heritage Park on Ward Street. The Service will start at 10:30 a.m. with a parade lead by the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment pipe band and colour parties. Rev. Dr. Anne Gowans-Blinn and Pastor Ben Denhoed will lead the service. The service will be followed by a light lunch for all at Bridgenort­h United Church.

This event is organized by the Chemung Lake District Lions Club in support of Legion Branch #77 Lakefield.

Ennismore Heritage Artspace

The Ennismore Heritage Artspace Centre is hosting a Christmas Craft Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. There will be many handcrafte­d gifts to choose from, and there will be free parking and free admission. Call 705-2925112 for more informatio­n.
