Russia beats Team OHL in Game 4 shootout
A goal-filled shootout led Russia to a 3-2 win over Team OHL in Game 4 of the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series in London, Ont., tying the series. The Petes’ Hunter Jones played the whole game in net for Team OHL, with defenceman Declan Chisholm also on the roster. Team OHL grabbed an early 1-0 lead, carrying it until the 2:34 mark of the third period when Russian forward Rodion Amirov got a big rebound past Jones. Team OHL’s lead was quickly regained with a goal by Oshawa Generals forward Serron Noel, who would later be recognized as Team OHL’s Player of the Game. Russia came back with another to tie things up in regulation. After a scoreless overtime, play went to a shootout, with Russia claiming victory. Game 5 is set for Wednesday in Saskatoon before the series wraps up in Prince Albert on Thursday.
