Rus­sia beats Team OHL in Game 4 shootout

A goal-filled shootout led Rus­sia to a 3-2 win over Team OHL in Game 4 of the 2019 CIBC Canada Rus­sia Se­ries in Lon­don, Ont., ty­ing the se­ries. The Petes’ Hunter Jones played the whole game in net for Team OHL, with de­fence­man De­clan Chisholm also on the ros­ter. Team OHL grabbed an early 1-0 lead, car­ry­ing it un­til the 2:34 mark of the third pe­riod when Rus­sian for­ward Ro­dion Amirov got a big re­bound past Jones. Team OHL’s lead was quickly re­gained with a goal by Oshawa Gen­er­als for­ward Ser­ron Noel, who would later be rec­og­nized as Team OHL’s Player of the Game. Rus­sia came back with another to tie things up in reg­u­la­tion. After a score­less over­time, play went to a shootout, with Rus­sia claim­ing vic­tory. Game 5 is set for Wed­nes­day in Saska­toon be­fore the se­ries wraps up in Prince Al­bert on Thurs­day.
