St. Joseph’s at Fleming staff deserve our respect
Re: “Peterborough letter: Few remaining veterans should be honoured on Nov. 11, not earlier,” Nov. 11
St. Joseph’s at Fleming was my father’s and stepmother’s first choice in future planning in their retirement years should health issues arise.
Our dad has been fortunate to have moved there recently and is thankful for all the care and assistance he has received. I have found it to be a beautiful place where we know our dad is getting excellent care. The entire staff have been friendly, thoughtful, kind and professional.
The recent backlash over the date of their Remembrance Day service is disturbing. I know there are scheduling issues in any organization. I know we all honour our veterans every day, every year. I understand the date chosen for this year’s service was unusual. The effort and the service and the attendance displayed much care and respect.
In the spirit of peace and armistice it is my hope we can put this tempest to rest and let the people who work at St. Joseph’s
at Fleming have their dignity and respect while caring for our loved ones. Rebecca Anthony, Peterborough
